Standing on the Rooftop

February 8th, 2010 by seven2six received 2 Comments »

My church is in Chinatown of San Francisco. I’ve been going to that church since I was about 8 or 9 years old. I actually don’t really remember; it’s been way too long. When I was younger, I would sneak a trip to the rooftop of the church and enjoy the view. Something about being able to see everything from above makes it very exciting. Also, it’s really quiet and peaceful up there. It’s a nice spot to just clear my mind and have some alone time.

Now that I’m older, I don’t  need to sneak up to the rooftop anymore. I’m sure the adults trust me enough to know I won’t do stupid things on the roof.

This picture was taken a while back in the summer of ‘09.

It feels like I’m standing on top of the world. I could stay in this part of the town forever if I had to. It’s home.

Yeah, I guess you’re allowed up there since you’re no longer a “kai doy”—like when you were 8 or 9.
